Over the past few days, you’ve probably seen numerous articles or social media posts about vol-au-vent. That’s because BXLOVE has launched a contest to determine the best vol-au-vent served in Brussels’ brasseries. The goal? To celebrate Belgian gastronomy and highlight this iconic, sometimes underrated dish.

Best Vol-au-Vent Contest in Brussels!
Discover the Criteria Guiding the Jury
The jury, composed of columnists, hotel concierges, and influencers, will judge based on three specific criteria:
- The quality of the chicken (tenderness, flavor)
- The cooking (rich and balanced)
- The texture of the fries (cooking, golden on the outside and soft on the inside)
An additional criterion will evaluate the accompaniments: puff pastry, meatballs, mushrooms, and the chef’s personal touch.
Now, it's your turn, public!
A QR code will be available for you to vote for your favorite vol-au-vent. This interactive format allows you to actively participate in choosing the winner. There’s no doubt that the winner will receive numerous reservations to try this iconic dish!
This initiative, led by BXLOVE, aims to highlight the flagship dishes of Belgian cuisine through a series of culinary competitions, all designed to promote local restaurants and showcase the richness of Brussels’ gastronomic heritage. Last year, BXLOVE organized the best carbonnade contest, won by the Brasserie de l’Ommegang: a great success.
